Toppik hair fibers contain Ammonium Chloride.  Ammonium Chloride is on the Right to Know Hazardous Substance List because it is cited by ACGIH, DOT, NIOSH and the EPA.  Ammonium Chloride can affect you when inhaled.  Contact can severely irritate the skin and eyes with possible eye damage. Inhaling Ammonium Chloride can irritate the nose, throat, and lungs.  Ammonium Chloride may cause an asthma-like allergy.  Exposure may affect the kidneys.

Colors vary for best results. May contain Keratin, Gossyplum Herbaceum, Polymer, FD&C Yellow No. 5 (CL 19140), FD&C Red #40 (Cl 16035), Black 1 (CL 28440) FD&C Blue No. 1 (CL42090), D&C Orange No. 4 (CL 15510), D&C Black No. 2 and other similar dyes.

Finally Hair does not use silica or hydantoin in any of its hair fibers.  The fibers are mostly comprised of Gossyplum Herbaceum which are died to match hair colors.  Gossypium herbaceum, commonly known as Levant cotton, is a species of cotton native to the semi-arid regions of sub-Saharan Africa and Arabia where it still grows in the wild as a perennial shrub.
